It’s the year 2014 somewhere in Nanyuki.
Owuor has paid for some airtime on NTV and is about to preach in ‘separation’, some extreme heresy that saw students drop out of school, marriages breaking, and even clothes and curtains and carpets burnt because they had animal markings.
But before he starts he announces the presence of one of his victims, Purity Karimi. Purity was allegedly born totally blind but she received her sight.
The now ‘seeing’ Purity is summoned to the front, and immediately it is apparent that this girl is still visually impaired.
Purity is feeling her way and nearly stumbles so much that Owuor admits as much. But to him, Purity is ‘learning’ to live with sight and her mannerism is still reflective of her past blindness.
It gets worse when Purity is asked to get on stage and she wanders all over including moving away from Owuor.
Purity is simply feeling her way and following the voice as many blind people learn.
The most telling sign that all is not well is when Owuor orders her to sit at an empty seat in front from which he has just ejected DC Litunda.
Purity zooms past it yet it is right in front of her. By trial and error, she located it.
Next assignment is to sit at the now empty Owuor’s seat. She again struggles to locate it yet it is right in front of her.
Purity is not blind but visually impaired.
And what’s the difference between the two?
Blindness means total loss of sight. A more scientific definition is, inability to distinguish between darkness from bright light.
Visual impairment means poor vision. It can be remedied by surgery, spectacles, contact lenses, and it varies in degrees from mild to severe.
Some severe instances of poor vision are regarded as blindness.
If Purity’s sight had been restored, she would never stumble over objects, nor would she miss a huge object( empty chair) in front of her in a well-lit room.
And if she can’t locate such an object then you can bet she can’t read anything, not even on a billboard.
You must have observed how Owuor dons white Nehru/lab coat suits during ‘healing services’. Like many things he does this is on purpose.
A bright white outfit on a red-carpeted stage will stick out like a sore thumb even to some severely visually impaired.
They can pick the object, combined with the direction of the microphone they can locate Owuor moving around without much effort.
But they can’t do much else.
Owuor is in other words assisting the visually impaired props locate him and thus claim healing has happened.
Back to Purity.
A simple way of telling a blind person without even looking in their eyes is observing their head movements while they are either in motion or as they respond to sound.
In normal circumstances, the brain coordinates your movement with your eye and head movements. You normally look at whatever you are walking towards.
Purity’s face remains awkwardly fixed in directions different from wherever she is heading. That’s how the blind move and that’s how you pick them.
Whenever Owuorians are presented with such and other cases of fake healings, the standard excuse I get is:
1. The sick are ‘learning’ how to live with their miracle
2. God leaves marks of the infirmity on the healed as a sign of the miracle
3. The healed are doing something they couldn’t do before
All these are nothing but excuses of fakery.
Let’s shift gears a bit.
Matthew 11:11 (NKJV)
11 “Assuredly, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.
13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. 14 And if you are willing to receive it, he is Elijah who is to come.
John the Baptist who came to prepare Israel for Jesus Christ, and who was Jesus’ cousin is identified as the greatest of all men yet, and in verse 14 as the promised Elijah of Malachi 4. This is repeated in Matthew 17:10-13, and Luke 1:17.
John, according to Jesus, is greater than Moses, greater than Moses, Isaiah, Daniel, Elijah, Abraham, etc. This is startling as John performed no miracles nor signs nor wonders:
John 10:41 (NKJV)
41 Then many came to Him and said, “John performed no sign, but all the things that John spoke about this Man were true
This tells me that the greatness of John lay, not in miracles, but in his testimony about Jesus. He was a faithful witness of Jesus’ coming, and I think he had the greatest revelation of who Jesus was more than any Old Testament prophet.
Owuor, like Branham before him and others, reading Malachi 4, wrest it from John the Baptist and essentially reject Jesus’ words concerning him. They insist they are latter-day Elijahs coming in the ‘spirit and power of Elijah’.
Owuor further insists that to fit in this imaginary role he must needs manifest the same miracles and signs Elijah performed. It matters nothing to him that John who came in the spirit and power of Elijah’ (Luke 1:17) performed no miracles.
By creating this artificial necessity for miracles Owuor is forced to fake them just to fit into this role. This explains his obsession with some of the most moronic fakeries such as sun twerking.
Did you get that?
Owuor misinterprets scriptures, twists and wrests the words of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and then compounds his errors by faking miracles and signs just to fit into his non-existent standards wrought by his misinterpretation.
That’s where Purity comes in.
And many others.
It is tempting to me moved with compassion over Purity’s torture, but I think Purity should be the east of your worries. Spare your emotions for the really (spiritually) blind adherents cheering the fakery.
Purity beats everyone in that meeting by perceiving her way around, her visual impairment notwithstanding. As for the rest, they are dead spiritually, and they have notes to prove it.
